About Our Company
Smith Garage Doors was founded in 2015 by Kenneth and Joye Smith. Kenneth began his journey in the garage door industry over 20 years ago when he was in serious need of a job. His passion for helping others led him to learn everything he could about garage doors and the industry. Kenneth’s career took him from Texas to Tennessee and then to Kansas, where he spent five years perfecting his trade. Eventually, he and his family moved back to Texas, settling in Stephenville, where they have been ever since.
Before starting Smith Garage Doors, both Kenneth and Joye worked for large local corporations. They missed making personal connections with their community. In the early stages of their business, Kenneth received service calls from people who had kept his number. What started as two nights a week soon became nightly work, including weekends and vacation days dedicated to garage door services. As the customer base grew, Joye continued working to support the startup. The support from the local community played a crucial role in the company’s growth.
Smith Garage Doors is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has been recognized by the Small Business Entrepreneurs of Erath for their outstanding work and growth.
